Bonbeach provides qualified volunteer beach patrols on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays from mid-November to the end of March each season. Volunteer beach patrols consist of at least four members with a range of skills and qualifications in beach management, water safety, aquatic rescue, water craft, radio, search and rescue and resuscitation. Each patrol session duration is between 4 and 6 hours with a 30 minutes of set up and briefing beforehand.
Bonbeach patrol the area from Patterson River to Chelsea Pier and have Carrum and Chelsea clubs with adjacent patrol areas and all clubs have a range of equipment available including rescue tubes and boards, IRBs and beach vehicles. Life Saving Victoria also provide Lifeguard Services, PWC patrols and two helicopters that can be called on as requested. There is also a state-wide radio network at our disposal giving access to all clubs, our radio communications centre and other emergency services.
Bonbeach is equipped and members are all qualified and trained to handle any aquatic, beach or first aid situations in providing a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience for all beach goers.
